Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 15, 2026

Introduction

Country Simulator ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. It covers our website at countrysimulator.org and our Android app on Google Play (together, the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

Account Information

If you create an account or sign in, we collect the information you provide through our authentication provider, Xsolla. This may include your email address, display name, and avatar. We store your Xsolla user ID and authentication tokens to maintain your session.

Game Data

When you play Country Simulator, we store game data on our servers, including your country name, flag design, game statistics, decision history, and progression data. If you upload an image for your flag, we store that image so other players can see it. If you use chat, we store the messages you send so other players can read them and so we can review reports of abuse. We also collect general geographic information (country, region, city, continent) derived from your connection metadata, not from precise GPS location.

Payment Information

On the website, Xsolla processes every payment. In the Android app, Google Play Billing processes every payment, and Google handles your payment details. We never collect or store your card number or other payment method details. For a purchase in the app, we receive the order ID and the product ID from Google. We do store transaction records including the transaction ID, virtual currency amount, purchase amount, currency, purchased items, and transaction status.

Rewarded Ads in the Android App

The Android app shows an ad only when you choose to watch one for a reward. Google AdMob shows these ads and measures them. To do this, AdMob uses your device's advertising ID and device data, such as the device model. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google's consent form asks for your choice first. You can change that choice from your nation profile. When an ad ends, Google tells our servers, so we can give you the reward.

Notifications in the Android App

If you turn on notifications, we store a push token for your phone. Firebase Cloud Messaging uses it to deliver the notifications you turned on, such as an attack on your lands. We delete the token when you log out or delete your account.

The app also schedules some reminders on your phone itself, such as a reminder for your daily gift. These reminders stay on your phone and never pass through our servers.

Device Identification

We use browser fingerprinting to generate an anonymous device identifier for your browser. This identifier is used to associate your game progress with your device when you are not signed in to an account. It does not contain personally identifiable information.

Local Storage

We store game preferences, authentication tokens, and UI settings in your browser's local storage. You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings.

Analytics and Session Recording

We use analytics and session recording tools to understand how visitors use the Service. This includes:

  • Pages visited and general navigation patterns
  • Referring websites
  • Browser type and device information
  • Country-level location (not precise location)
  • Mouse movements, clicks, and scrolling behavior (via session recording)

We do not collect personally identifiable information through our analytics. Session recordings may capture on-screen content but do not record keystrokes in password fields or other sensitive inputs.

Cookies

Country Simulator does not use cookies for tracking purposes. Any cookies set by the Service are strictly necessary for functionality, such as maintaining your session. Third-party services embedded in the Service (such as analytics providers) may set their own cookies in accordance with their respective privacy policies.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the Service:

Hosting and Infrastructure

Our hosting provider may collect certain technical information as part of its infrastructure services, including IP addresses for security and performance purposes. Please refer to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for more details.

Once a day, we note the IP address each nation plays from and keep it for 90 days, so we can keep banned players out. A banned player's IP addresses stay while the ban lasts.

Authentication and Payments

We use Xsolla for user authentication and payment processing. When you create an account or make a purchase, your information is handled by Xsolla in accordance with their privacy practices. We receive limited account information (user ID, email, display name, avatar) and transaction records from Xsolla. Please refer to Xsolla's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle your data.

Google Play, AdMob and Firebase

The Android app uses Google Play Billing for purchases, Google AdMob for ads, and Firebase Cloud Messaging for notifications. Google handles that data as described in Google's Privacy Policy. Google also explains how it uses data from apps that use its services.

Analytics

We use Umami, which counts visits without cookies and does not track you across websites. We also use Google Analytics, which uses cookies and similar identifiers to measure how the Service is used, such as the pages you open, the actions you take, your device type and your approximate location. Google handles that data as described in Google's Privacy Policy.

Session Recording

On the website (not in the Android app), we use session recording tools to understand how users interact with the Service, including mouse movements, clicks, and scrolling. This data helps us improve the user experience. Session recordings do not collect personally identifiable information. Please refer to Microsoft's Privacy Statement for more details.

Data Retention

Game data stored in local storage persists until you clear your browser data. Server-side game data, including account information and game progress, is retained for as long as necessary to provide the Service. We keep purchase records for up to 10 years, as tax law requires. We keep blocks on network addresses used to break the rules for as long as they protect other players. Analytics data is retained in aggregated, anonymous form.

Data Deletion

You can delete your account at any time. In the game, open your nation profile, then click Delete Account. You can also use our Delete Account page, or email us at ben@insoola.org. We delete an account you ask for by email within 30 days.

When you delete your account, we delete your personal data right away. We keep your purchase records for up to 10 years, without your name, because tax law requires it. Trades, contests and alliance wars you took part in stay in other players' history under an anonymous name.

Children's Privacy

Country Simulator is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will promptly remove it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
